I received my BFA from the University of Texas at Austin where I studied with Peter Saul, Bob Levers and Dan Southerland. I also hold an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where I studied with Susanna Coffey, Dan Gustin and Judy Koon.
After graduate school I taught studio art and art history at Moraine Valley and Morton Colleges, the Hinsdale Center for the Arts and Suburban Fine Arts Center- all in the Chicago area. In 1998 I moved back to Austin and started teaching at Austin Community College, where I am still a professor today. I have also taught at the school of the Austin Museum of Art at Laguna Gloria, the City of Austin's Dougherty Arts Center and at my own atelier Noel Robbins Studio from 1998 to 2011.
My work is in private collections in Austin, Chicago, New Orleans, Telluride, San Francisco and Jerusalem, Israel, and has been selected twice for New American Paintings and reviewed in Circa CA: The Texas Journal of Contemporary Art.
